Summary
This Panasonic epilator is for someone who knows they like epilating, knows the attachments will be useful and wants the best of the best. Because that’s what this is. I would say it’s very similar to the Silk-epil 7 7569 but there’s something about this one that just makes it so smooth and so easy to use. However, it’s always going to be a compromise with the price.
If price isn’t an issue, then all you need to decide is whether you want the pedicure buffer, or Braun’s facial cleanser and go from there. If price is an issue, then you could do just as well with one of the Braun, or even the Philips models. If you’re a seasoned epilator then you’ll get a lot out of this Panasonic but if you’re just starting, try a more moderately priced item first to make sure it’s the hair removal tool for you.

In-Depth Review
Panasonic is an enormous multinational Japanese electronics brand that was founded in 1918. It began life as the Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., only using the actual name ‘Panasonic’ from 1961 with an American deal. Most widely known for the televisions and various generations of music players, Panasonic is a household name and an icon in development and technology. The company produces and sells a vast range of products, from televisions and mobile phones to washing machines and grooming goods. Interestingly, Panasonic is committed to making its products ‘green’ and builds products to last and frequently without PVC. As a result, it ranks highly in Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics.
The Panasonic ES-ED90 Wet/Dry comes with:
- 1x Precision cap
- 1x Shaver head
- 1x Pedicure buffer
- 1x Bikini comb
- 1x Gentle cap
- 1x Foot Care File
- 1x Travel Pouch
- 1x Stand
- 1x Cleaning Brush
- 1x Charger
Panasonic doesn’t have a large range of epilators at all but instead has focused all the technology in just two or three models. When it comes to this epilator, it’s clear that it’s not an afterthought in the women’s personal care section – it’s got everything. The aesthetic design is a little on the retro side if you ask me but it’s clean and uncomplicated which is nice. It comes with a handy storage pouch too, which keeps all its attachments in the same place.

100% waterproof, this can easily be used in the shower and works even better with shaving foam, resulting in a perfect finish. It includes a shaver head so you can chuck away those razors, a gentle cap which uses less tweezers for total comfort, a precision cap for smaller areas such as bikini line and a standard epilation cap with the full 48 tweezers. The range of caps is similar to that of the Braun range and all work very well, removing the large majority of hairs first time.
As with some of Braun’s epilators, this Panasonic model has an LED light that shows hairs up easily so you don’t miss any and also has a pivoting head. While Braun’s pivoting head does a 15 degree angle, this Panasonic has an impressive 60 degree pivot, making it superior for tough contours like the armpits.

Interestingly, this model also has a unique pedicure buffer attachment which gets rid of dead/dry skin on the feet and is a nice touch and really effective. As with many other brands, it has two speed settings making it suitable for anyone and the gentle cap adds to that flexibility.
It shares the 1 hour charge time and 40 minute use time with Braun and due to the wet/dry capability, it’s on a very even playing field with the ‘Braun Silk-Epil 7 7569 – Wet & Dry Cordless Epilator with 6 Extras’. If you want a totally inclusive epilator that will serve you well for years, you won’t go wrong with this one.
