Pros
- Powerful and effective with three heat settings
- 3 metre cord has additional hanging hook for convenience
- Three excellent attachments including diffuser
Cons
- Looks a little odd – let’s face it, like a duck
- ‘Nanoe’ technology seems a little strange
- Very pricey
Summary
I wouldn’t buy this based soley on the ‘Nanoe’ technology but I would based on its attachments and power. When will companies realise that the more scientific they make things sound, the less we trust them? This doesn’t seem to dry any fast than its non-nano counterparts and it’s the quick drying nozzle that really makes the difference – not ‘Nanoe’ technology. The array of attachments is brilliant and the three speed and three temperature settings are all you need for any type of hair. This is a powerful tool and should last you years, especially with the removable filter to allow cleaning and thus better airflow. Sure it’s expensive, but you get everything you need.

In-Depth Review
Panasonic are leaders in all sorts of fields and their personal care appliances are usually of very high quality and highly effective with unique designs. A Japanese company, founded in 1918, it originally sold bicycle lamps before growing exponentially in the post-war boom. Now it’s a global corporate giant and is highly rated by consumers.
The Panasonic EH-NA65-K Smooth and Shiny Hair Dryer comes with:
- 1 x EH-NA65 nanoe hairdryer
- 1 x diffuser nozzle
- 1 x standard nozzle
- 1 x quick dry nozzle
Okay let’s address the most obvious points first; this hair dryer looks like a duck. There, I said it. It looks like a pink duck and I immediately want to name it Donald. I’m not sure what design genius came up with this but I can’t bring myself to like it that much. Saying that, other reviewers seem totally charmed with its avian qualities so it’s really up to you.
This hair dryer comes with three nozzles, which is really good as they’re all very useful. For the price I can only expect this sort of attachment range and the diffuser is particularly effective despite looking like one of those cannibalistic starfish that you see in ‘8 scariest creatures’ articles.

With three temperature and three speed settings, you should have all your bases covered with this Panasonic hair dryer and should find a temperature to suit you no problem as it has a decent range. It also features a cool shot button to seal in style and quell any flyaways. The 3 metre cord is standard but a good length and has a loop on the end to hang it up by – genius or what? It also features a removable filter, which, if cleaned out regularly, should lengthen the lifespan and make it safer to use long term.
This is a professionally powerful tool with a 2000W motor and your hair will be dry before you can even say ‘my goodness I’m using a duck’. Now let’s talk about this ‘Nanoe’ business. Aside from being a hilariously bizarre spelling of ‘nano’ (which just means really small), does it actually do anything? This technology essentially allows water molecules to be broken down into much smaller ‘nano’ particles. From a hair drying point of view; this would then allow evaporation to occur faster and thus enable hair to dry quicker. Panasonic also seem to suggest that this creates healthier, moisturised hair but I’m not sure how.
The quick dry nozzle is surprisingly effective considering it also has some bizarre science behind it but, in fact, all the nozzles work very well. For this price which is even higher than that of GHD’s Air hair dryer – I actually think this is not a bad product. It’s powerful, has a good array of capabilities and attachments and isn’t too laborious to waft around.
