Cloud Nine is a relatively new company and has one of the founding members of GHD at its helm. This shows through in the focus on high quality design and groundbreaking technology. All their products to date have been completely unique and although their price reflects this innovation, it seems to be paying off.
Cloud Nine Products are known for using less heat with the same or better results. Their dedication to creating products that won’t damage your hair is definitely an aim worth supporting and it looks like they could easily be the new ‘GHD’.

Well these straighteners are certainly something of a novelty and seem to be the next technological step in hair iron evolution. With no on/off button, they turn on when you’re using them and turn off after thirty seconds of inactivity. This may sound annoying, but they turn on instantaneously when you place them over your hair again. Impressed?
When you begin to use them, the plates heat up instantly to 195 degrees which, in reality, is a second or two. By clicking the plates together three times in fast succession, you can change the temperature to 165 degrees. These two temperatures should be suitable for fine and thick hair, despite not having the wide range of other brands.
My favourite part of this constant on/off technology is that you can never forget to turn them off and never need to worry about them inadvertently burning things. The heat is so fast to return each time that you won’t even notice that it turns itself off when you lay it down to re-section your hair. This really is an impressive tool.
The C9 touch looks simple and sleek, no clunkiness or fancy patterns, just a straightforward design. I personally think this is a plus and it’s nice to have a hair straightener that is purely about the ease of straightening.
These irons glide smoothly through hair and straighten on the first run through, every time. There’s no hint of snagging and the ease with which they straighten makes for a quick job, even with thick hair. To me these seem on a par with GHDs and it looks like they finally have a true rival. Cloud Nine don’t have a huge product range but what they do have is seriously high quality.
