Pros
- Powerful with a 1900W motor
- Four temperature settings and 2 speed settings
- Two concentrator nozzles
Cons
- Not particularly attractive
- Quite pricey
Summary
This is a professional level hair dryer, no doubt about it. This doesn’t necessarily make it a great tool to own though if you’re not a professional. It’s powerful, even on a low speed setting and it’s incredibly hot on the high temperature setting. Be careful how you use this and always use it at a distance unless on the lowest temperature setting. If you look after it, it should last you many years and it dries hair very quickly. This is best suited for thick hair as it might be too powerful on the lowest speed for fine hair.

In-Depth Review
Parlux are an award winning company who focus specifically on hair drying. They are frequently used in Australian and American salons and have come to the UK fairly recently. While they certainly don’t have the sleek design of GHD’s hair dryer, they are very focused on producing high quality products.
The Parlux Superturbo 3200 Compact Hair Dryer comes with:
- 1x Parlux hair dryer
- 1x 6cm nozzle
- 1x 7.5cm nozzle
The Parlux hair dryer looks like a pretty standard dryer – it’s neither clunky and ugly or sleek and beautifully designed. The buttons on the handle are annoyingly chunky but it doesn’t effect the operation and it’s surprisingly lightweight at under 500g. It’s also fairly small, hence ‘compact’ I suppose and this means it’s easy to wield and dry hair without tiring.
With a 1900W motor, this hair dryer is very powerful and is used widely by professional hairdressers. It has a reputation for longevity and while the warranty is only for a year, I would expect it to last much longer if taken care of.
With four heat settings, this is a great hair dryer for those who have more sensitive hair or like creating many different styles. One temperature just doesn’t fit all and at different times of the year, multiple temperatures are useful. With four settings, you have a great choice and most hair dryers only come with two or three. You can tell this was created with professionals in mind.

The Parlux 3200 also comes with a cool shot button, rather de riguer these days and it helps seal in the style you’ve created and calm those flyaways that may have sprung up. It also has a speed button with two settings, which is also very useful. It should be noted that the highest temperature setting is extremely hot and while it may warm you up on a winter’s day, it can damage and burn your hair. Use with caution and always start off on a lower setting.
The two concentrator nozzles differ in width by 1.5cm and are both useful for styling and drying sections of hair. This hair dryer is ionic and so will help stop frizz while you’re drying. It features ceramic elements inside to create an even heat and a better lifespan. As it’s designed for professionals though, care should be taken with this powerful, fast and hot hair dryer.
The price is quite high and there’s clearly a lot of good technology in here. The only thing that I don’t like about it is the look – it just doesn’t look particularly attractive. But what does that do to your hair? Nothing. This is a great product that works well. Use it properly at a distance of 15cm or more and maybe use a heat protective spray as well and you’ll find a good friend in this hair tool.
