The ceramic allows hair to glide around easily ensuring no snagging and minimising hair breakage.
This wand has five temperature settings which is really the perfect amount. You don’t need too many to choose from or too few so that you miss the perfect heat – these five mean that there is always at least one suitable for every hair type. The lowest temperature is 140˚c and the highest is 200˚c which should easily be hot enough for even stubborn hair.

The heat rest built into the handle means that the heated barrel never needs to rest on the floor or table which is a simple yet very effective feature.
The deep red design makes this appliance really stand out without being overtly in-your-face or garish. There’s a cool tip but the accompanying glove isn’t the best. You can’t hold the wand for long with this glove at all which can be a problem when it takes a while to curl your hair.
The problem with this style is that it can be really difficult to get your hair to stay where you want it on the wand. The barrel is so smooth which is good for the hair but pretty frustrating when curling. BaByliss’ 2285CU Curling Wand Pro has Wrap Control™ which is tiny silicone sections that keep the hair in place – this curling wand however, doesn’t, which is a shame.
Getting good curls out of this wand is certainly possible but it is a bit fiddly as the glove isn’t fantastic. Waves and curls are smooth and sleek once you’ve got the hang of the wand and the placing of the cool tip is vital to this product’s usability.

Conclusion
BaByliss usually produces pretty impressive products and this one isn’t bad. It has great temperature settings and the nano-gold ceramic barrel leaves hair looking shiny and healthy. The Wrap Control™ offered in the Pro counterpart is sorely missed in this model and it takes quite a bit of concentration to make the hair stay exactly where you want it.
It heats up and cools down fast and is reasonably priced. On the whole, if you’re trying to decide between this one and the pro version – go for the pro – otherwise, this one isn’t a bad decision.
