- Looks and feels great
- Powerful and good range of temperature settings
- Comes with three useful attachments
- Above average noise levels
- Perhaps too powerful for fine hair
It’s really hard to find anything at fault here. If there are any downsides it’s that the lowest speed setting might still be too powerful for fine hair and it’s not the quietest hair dryer on the market. But really, it’s so good that I think those things are easily written off (unless you have super fine hair…). This is a fantastic product with great attachments and should last for years if you clean the filter often. Definitely a rival to the GHD Air Dryer, Diva have really got their heads screwed on right.
Diva are a newcomer to the personal hair appliance scene and have only been around for a few years. Despite their youth, they have bulldozed into the industry winning awards here, there and everywhere and producing fantastic ranges of exceptional quality products. This is a brand to watch and could easily be rivalling GHD soon.
The Diva Professional Styling Ultima 5000 hair dryer comes with:
- 1 x Ultima 5000 Dryer
- 1 x Instruction booklet
- 2 x Concentrators
- 1 x Styling Wand attachment
- 1 x Convertible VDE to BS plug
This dryer comes in black or pink and I personally think the black looks a lot more stylish and sleek. The pink looks like something out of a Barbie house but don’t let my colour preference put you off; this is another fantastic dryer from Diva.
I do love a hair dryer brand that tells you its speed. This one has an airflow of 77km/h and can get up to 110°C. I’m a huge fan of companies that provide this sort of information over companies that spout bizarre things like having crushed unicorn horns in the grille. Diva clearly treat their customers like equals and aim to provide the highest quality products without marketing gimmicks.
Diva’s unique rubberised finish makes the black version of this hair dryer a pleasure to hold and look at and its slightly curved handle is really comfortable to hold. The hot pink version isn’t rubberised and is smooth and shiny. It has a removable rear filter for easy cleaning to prevent dust build up and overheating. I would expect this Diva Professional Styling Ultima to last you years and years.
This model comes with 2 precision concentrator nozzles and a styling wand, which makes it a fantastic purchase. It comes with four heat settings and two speed settings making it suitable for any hair type – although those with fine hair may find it too powerful.
The cord is 3 metres long which exactly the right length for easy use and the 2000W motor has a life of 1000+ hours if you look after it and clean the rear filter regularly. Overall, this is one of the best hair dryers out there for a fantastic price.
